When life gets tough..
The mind gets like a wild horse.
A bronco bucking across the field knocking off its rider.
Thoughts kicking in from all angles.
You’re “thrown for a loop” as the saying goes.
A ride with endless spirals and topsy turvy turns.
If this happens and you’re at work, how could you possibly be productive?
Make important decisions?
Lead people?
There’s no way to do that effectively in this state.
So what’s the solution? You need to tame the horse.
That’s where meditation comes in.
Try this the next time you’re mind goes wild:
1. Give yourself some space to cool down and not make any rash decisions.
2. Do something physical for a few minutes to exert the energy built up inside. ex) Running, jumping up and down, dancing
3. Slow down and go inwards. Breathe.
4. Observe what’s happening in the body. Get curious.
5. Write your thoughts down on paper. Yes, physically writing it! (The beauty is that it’s tangible)
Once done, see how you feel. Has your state changed at all?
Finding ways to “tame the horse” keeps you from doing something you’ll regret.
And reduces the unnecessary stress of getting bucked off the bronco time and time again.
Let me know how it goes 🙌🏼
